If you're using Wix Studio for your website, optimising your SEO is essential for improving visibility and driving traffic. As a Web Design Agency that primarily works with Wix Studio to build websites, we’ve gained a deep understanding of how this platform can streamline the SEO process. Although we also work across Squarespace, WordPress, and Shopify, we choose Wix Studio for our web design projects.
And, while I’m not trying to be biased (having spent 4-5 years working at Wix Dublin...), I genuinely find that changing SEO settings, especially heading tags, is easier in Wix Studio. The platform offers more flexibility and options, meaning you aren't as limited as with some other website builders. With other platforms, I've found it can be more challenging to update settings for dynamic pages (such as product pages or blogs), and it’s often harder to alter heading tags without disrupting the current design. (Every builder has its pros and cons, and we do enjoy working on all of them!)
Here are some simple SEO tips to get you started with optimising your Wix Studio site:
1. Page Title Tag
The title tag is one of the most important elements of SEO. It appears in search engine results and helps both users and search engines understand the topic of your page. An optimised title tag encourages higher click-through rates (CTR).
Pro Tip: Keep your title under 60 characters for optimal display in search results. Make it clear and relevant to the page content.
2. Page Meta Description
The meta description is a brief summary (155-160 characters) that appears under your title in search results. A compelling meta description can significantly increase your CTR. Write a concise, clear summary that entices users to click.
Pro Tip: Include relevant keywords, but avoid keyword stuffing. Make your description both informative and engaging.

Headings
Headings help organise content and guide both readers and search engines through the page. Use them effectively to improve user experience and SEO.
H1: Use this for the main title of the page, usually stating the primary topic. This tag should only appear once per page.
H2: These are your main sections. Use them for key content areas.
H3: Subsections under H2, providing additional detail or breaking down information.
How to Change Heading Tags in Wix Studio
Click "Edit Text" for the desired text block.
On the right-hand sidebar, scroll to "Design."
Under "HTML Tag," select the appropriate heading tag (H1, H2, H3, etc.).
Paragraphs
When writing paragraphs, focus on readability:
Keep it Short: Aim for 1-3 sentences per paragraph. This makes content easier to scan.
Use Keywords Naturally: Integrate keywords in a way that reads naturally, without forcing them into the text.
Use Bullet Points: Break down information into bullet points to improve readability and highlight key points.
By optimising your title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and paragraphs, you can improve your site's SEO and ensure a better user experience. Simple adjustments like these can lead to higher search engine rankings and increased traffic.
